Whether you’re a free agent or part of a community, there are a few things you’ll need to know before competing at the 2016 Granite Games.

REGISTRATION PRICES

All payments are final. No refunds or transfers will be permitted, regardless of reason (injury, illness, change in work schedule, deployment, pregnancy, etc.). Athletes in the Team of 3 Division may substitute an athlete for a fee of $50. The substitution did not have to complete the Online Team of 3 Qualifier.

  • Individual Team Online Qualifier – US $25 per athlete
  • Community Team Online Qualifier – US $20 per Community
  • Team of Three Online Qualifier – US $75 per team
  • Kill Cliff Granite Games Individual – US $225
  • Kill Cliff Granite Games Community Team – US $800
  • Kill Cliff Granite Game Team of 3 – US $600

DIVISIONS

There are seven divisions for individual competitors and six divisions for Teams.
There are no other recognized divisions beyond those listed below:

  • The Teen Division Ages 14-18: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17
  • The Masters 35+ Division: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17
  • The Masters 40+ Division: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17
  • The Masters 45+ Division: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17
  • The Masters 50+ Division: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17
  • The Masters 55+ Division: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17
  • Community Team Division: Co-ed team of 2 women and 2 men
  • Pro Division Teams of 3 – Same gender
  • ASRX Division Teams of 3 – Same gender
  • Intermediate Division Teams of 3-Same gender
  • Scaled Division Teams of 3-Same gender
  • Masters 35+ Teams of 3 – Same gender: Athlete age qualification will be based on age at 11:59pm 9/1/17

Important to Note

  • All Athletes must compete in the Online Qualifier in order to compete and advance on to The Kill Cliff Granite Games.
  • An athlete will not be able to change Communities after June 7th at 6:59 PM CST, 2017.

Registration Process

  • Athlete registration for the Individual & Community Team Qualifier closes on June 12th at 7pm CDT
  • Any athlete willing to compete at the 2017 Granite Games in any and all divisions is required to complete one of the Qualifiers.
  • The Individual Online Qualifier will take place over the course of three weeks:
    • Week 1 begins on June 7th, 2017 and Week 3 completes on June 26th, 2017.
  • After the culmination of our Individual & Community Team Online Qualifier, athletes will now have been filtered into a Division that will best suit their athletic abilities. If an athlete qualifies for an Individual spot for the 2017 Kill Cliff Granite Games this will be their division to compete in.
  • Athletes will have 48 hours to accept an invitation or decline their Individual spot for the Kill Cliff Granite Games. If an athlete fails to respond within the 48 hour window, their spot will be given to the next qualified athlete on the leader board.
  • Earned spots are non-transferable: If a winner declines their guaranteed entry their spot will be added back into our tiered registration.
  • If an athlete fails to qualify, they may participate in the Team of 3 Qualifier
  • The Team of 3 Online Qualifier will take place over the course of thirteen days:
    • The first stage of workouts will be released on July 5th, 2017 and the second stage of workouts will be released on July 12th, 2017. All workouts must be completed on June 17th, 2017.
  • After the culmination of our Team of 3 Online Qualifier, athletes will now have been filtered into a Division that will best suit their athletic abilities. If a team qualifies for a Team of 3  spot for the 2017 Kill Cliff Granite Games this will be their division to compete in.

Individual Qualifier Info:

The following Online Qualifier placeholders will receive an invite to compete as an individual in the 2017 Granite Games (*registration fees apply):

  • Top 30 Men / Top 30 Women Pro Individual Division
  • Teens (14-18) – 15 Boys / 15 Girls
  • Masters 35+ – 15 Men / 15 Women
  • Masters 40+ – 15 Men / 15 Women
  • Masters 45+ – 15 Men / 15 Women
  • Masters 50+ – 15 Men / 15 Women
  • Masters 55+ – 15 Men / 15 Women

Team of 3 Qualifier Info:

The following Online Qualifier placeholders will receive an invite to compete as a Team of 3 in the 2017 Granite Games (*registration fees apply):

  • Top 25 Men/Top 25 Women Pro Team of 3 Division; The Granite Games reserves the right to invite 5 Men/5 Women Pro Teams
  • Top 30 Men/Top 30 Women AsRx Team of 3 Division
  • Top 30 Men/Top 30 Women Masters 35+ Team of 3 Division
  • Top 45 Men/Top 45 Women Intermediate Team of 3 Division

Video Submission Requirements

Athletes are NOT required to submit a video for the Online Qualifier, however it is strongly suggested that athletes video tape their workouts.  Video submissions will be requested from the Top 100 male and Top 100 female athletes.  If an athlete qualifies to compete on-site at The 2016 Granite Games Competition, they will be asked to submit one of the workouts, as chosen by The Granite Games Judges team.

Basic Guidelines

Below are the basic guidelines for all video submissions:

  • Athlete stating their full name at the start of the video
  • All equipment weights and measurements shown prior to the start of the workout
  • Side profile view of the athlete throughout the video
  • Athlete, equipment must be visible in the frame throughout the workout, so completion of each movement is visible in the frame.
  • No edits or cuts allowed, must be one video from start to finish
  • A time clock must be visible or a judge who clearly states, “3,2,1 Go” to begin your workout.

Video Submission Process

To submit a video for your Online Qualifier workouts, you will need to create an account on YouTube.

Once you you have uploaded to YouTube, log in to your Athlete Account and copy and paste the video link onto your score submission page.

Upload Videos Longer Than 15 Minutes

In order to upload a video to YouTube that is longer than 15 minutes you need to change the settings on your YouTube account. By default, you can upload videos that are up to 15 minutes long. To upload longer videos, verify your account with the following steps.

  1. On a computer, visit the upload page at www.youtube.com/my_videos_upload
  2. Click Increase your limit at the bottom of the page, or visit https://www.youtube.com/verify
  3. Follow the steps to verify your account with a phone. You can choose between receiving the verification code through a text message (on a mobile phone) or an automated voice call.
