Wondering what’s happening this year for the Granite Games?
You’re not alone!
We’re excited and proud to play a role in this pivotal moment within the CrossFit sphere. Here’s what you can look forward to from us in 2019. As you’d expect, there are a few changes coming to the jam-packed 2019 Granite Games season…MORE Community, MORE prizes, MORE opportunities to test your fitness!
First and foremost, let’s talk Community!
We truly believe our Granite Games Community is unlike any other. Athletes hailing from far and wide don their Granite Games gear with pride and share in the camaraderie and spirit so unique to CrossFit.
Throughout this 2019 season, we challenge you to engage in a meaningful way with the Community and embrace the Athlete lifestyle, no matter who you are or where your fitness level lies. Join the Granite Games Community Facebook page and start taking part in our weekly challenges. They’re not only good for you — they’re also fun and set you up to win some awesome prizes. We’ve already given away an Apple Watch 4 and a Hyperice Hypervolt. Get in on this!
Winter Throwdown 1.12.19
Coming up (fast) in January is our first Granite Games Throwdown of the year! This is the official kick-off for the 2019 season.
50+ Affiliates will host an epic day of competition on January 12th, giving you the opportunity to throw down with your buddies, plus have the opportunity to qualify for a Team of 3 slot at the 2019 Kill Cliff Granite Games Championship.
That’s right! This year, the top 15 teams from each division (Female Intermediate, Male Intermediate, Female Scaled, Male Scaled) will punch their ticket to compete on-site at the Kill Cliff Granite Games, no muss no fuss. We’ll be adding hosts up until November 3rd, so check back if you don’t see a location near you. Better yet, take action by encouraging your local gym to host a Granite Games Throwdown of their own!
The Open 4.10.19 – 4.22.19
April is when the fun kicks into overdrive. Looking to compete as an Individual or on a Team of 3 / Co-Ed Team 4 at the Granite Games Championship? Then the Open is for you! These two weeks (4.10 – 4.22) will be bursting to the brim with as much fitness as you can handle.
Mirroring the Online Qualifier structure of last year, all Athletes will complete a series of workouts independently. The first set of workouts will be released on 4.10, with scores due on 4.15. The second set of workouts will be released 4.17, with scores due on 4.22.
Still with us? Good. Let’s keep trucking…
Once the leaderboard is finalized, invites will be sent out to qualifying individuals in Pro, Masters (including our new 60+ division), and Teen divisions.
At the same time, Athletes will have the option to combine their scores, creating Teams of 3 (AsRx Plus, AsRx, Intermediate, Scaled) or Co-Ed Teams of 4.
